Top 5 Block Leaders of All Time, OKC Thunder

Kevin Durant has 639 blocks with the OKC Thunder.

Before moving to Oklahoma City, the Thunder were the Seattle SuperSonics. Overall, the franchise won one championship in its history. Let’s take a closer look at the Blocks category and highlight the five all-time leaders in the department.


1. Serge Ibaka1,300 blocks

Ibaka made his NBA debut in the 2009-10 season. While he played an average of 18 minutes per game, he showcased his shot-blocking prowess in his rookie season by averaging 1.3 kills per game. He then averaged at least 2.4 blocks in each of the next five seasons. He led the league twice per game, averaging 3.7 blocks in the 2011-12 season and 3.0 blocks in the 2012-13 season. During his tenure with the Thunder, Ibaka finished in the top four for Defensive Player of the Year three times.

2. Shawn Kemp959 blocks

The SuperSonics selected Kemp with the 17th pick in the 1989 draft. He averaged 1.5 blocks in 625 career games with the franchise.

3. Jack Sikma705 blocks

The SuperSonics took Sikma with the eighth pick in the 1977 draft. As a member of the SuperSonics, he made seven All-Star teams. Sikma, best known for his scoring and rebounding, averaged 1.0 blocks in 715 games for Seattle.

4. Kevin Durant639 blocks

Durant averaged 20.3 points per game for the SuperSonics while winning the 2007-08 Rookie of the Year Award. He then spent the next eight seasons of his career as a member of the Thunder. He was named MVP of the 2013-14 season and finished in the top five in MVP voting six times with the Thunder. Durant was an excellent scorer and also used his length to help out on defense. He had a streak of four consecutive seasons in which he averaged at least 1.0 blocks per game.

5. Steven Adams531 blocks

Adams spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Thunder. He avoided serious injury early on and played at least 80 games in three of his first four seasons in the league. In 530 career games with the Thunder, Adams averaged 1.0 blocks.
