The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions provided an updated Week 9 injury report on Thursday.

Matt LaFleur’s team brought four offensive players back to practice, including quarterback Jordan Love, who is dealing with a groin injury. He was joined in his return by running back Josh Jacobs and offensive linemen Rasheed Walker and Elgton Jenkins. The Lions also returned quarterback Jared Goff, who sat out Wednesday with an ankle injury.

Update on QB Jordan Love’s injury

Love injured his groin in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He missed practice on Wednesday but returned on a limited basis on Thursday, keeping the door open to play against the Lions on Sunday. Expect him to make a game-winning decision. Malik Willis is the replacement.

Update on RB Josh Jacobs’ injury

As expected, Jacobs – who injured his ankle on Sunday – returned to practice on a limited basis on Thursday. He is confident he will play on Sunday. The Packers need him to be a motor on offense against the Lions, especially when Love isn’t at 100 percent.

Update on CB Jaire Alexander’s injury

Alexander is dealing with a new knee injury starting Week 8. Unlike Love and Jacobs, Alexander did not return to practice on Thursday. Two consecutive days of missing practice jeopardize his availability for Sunday. Losing the two-time All-Pro corner would be a major loss to the Lions’ dynamic offense.

More Packers injury updates

Center Josh Myers missed practice again and coach Matt LaFleur said the team was concerned about his availability for Sunday. Elgton Jenkins, who returned to training, served as backup center. Safety Evan Williams also missed practice for the second day in a row. In addition to Love, Jacobs and Jenkins, left tackle Rasheed Walker also returned to practice on Thursday.

Lions injury updates

The Lions brought eight players back to practice on Thursday, including quarterback Jared Goff and five others who were given a break on Wednesday. Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez missed practice for the second straight day.
