If there’s one thing Indiana has in abundance (beyond beauty), it’s small towns. It’s technically a small town by Indiana standards, but it would still be considered a small town anywhere else. The photos are idyllic, but even they don’t do it justice. The best way to see Zionsville is to experience it yourself: walking up and down the streets. Explore the neighborhoods. It’s an incredibly beautiful place and you won’t regret a moment of it.

It is a vibrant community that has a lot to offer. There is always something going on and there is a real sense of camaraderie here. Everyone is everyone’s neighbor – and it shows. There is an overall feeling of community here, even if you are just visiting.

Best of all, however, is how safe this small town is.

In 2023, there were just 3.8 incidents of crime of any kind per 1,000 residents – an impressively low rate that makes it one of (if not THE) safest cities in Indiana. It’s filled from top to bottom with unique shops, restaurants, and attractions that are sure to entice you to stay forever. I don’t know about you, but I’m the kind of person who really enjoys going out of his way just to have a good meal – for example, I’m happy to drive from anywhere I went to Zionsville just to have lunch. And dessert! It’s worth it.

For example, did you know that’s what Zionsville is? Cake Capital of Indiana? Well, now do it – do whatever you want with this delicious information. If cake isn’t your thing, maybe best ice cream in Indiana will be.

Zionsville is also home to more than 500 acres of trails, parks and other outdoor amusements.

Once you’ve hiked and biked to your heart’s content, head to the shops for even more fun. There are many mom-and-pop eateries here that you won’t find anywhere else, and they all add to Zionsville’s overall charm. Books about black dogs is a fan favorite.

From the homes to the shops to the people, Zionsville is like a dream.

All of its amenities and attractions – combined with its remarkably low crime rate – make it undoubtedly one of the most peaceful cities in Indiana. It’s a fantastic place to visit or live and the perfect city to raise a family. No matter what time of year you visit, you’re in for something special.
