Police are searching for a New Florence man accused of threatening hospital staff

State police are searching for a New Florence man accused of threatening employees at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Police say 20-year-old Evan James Stewart is charged with terroristic threats and is believed to be in the Johnstown area.

According to investigators, officers were dispatched to the hospital Wednesday afternoon for reports of an incident in the parking lot.

Police said Stewart was reportedly leaving a hospital appointment when he allegedly made threatening statements to staff, including threatening to “shoot a doctor.”

Authorities said the hospital immediately increased security and issued an arrest warrant for Stewart.

According to police, Stewart is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with brown eyes and hair.

Authorities say he is believed to be traveling to the Johnstown area of ​​Cambria County and may be driving a red Ford Edge.

According to police, Stewart is charged with making terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct.
