Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon and Brennan Presley reignite Cowboy pride

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are essentially on life support at this point in the 2024 season. After a 3-0 start to the season, Oklahoma State has now lost five straight games in Big 12 Conference football and is looking for a sign of life with just four games remaining in the regular season.

Loyal Cowboys fans across the state are puzzling in 2024, and most are demanding answers. The rumor mill is abuzz with talk of coaching changes and possible roster moves during the Big 12 schedule. All Cowboy Nation asks is a win.

The win they may have had this season will not show up in the win-loss statistics. The victory we all needed came in the form of good old fashioned cowboy football pride. Recent statements from two Oklahoma State cornerstones made the 2024 Oklahoma State Cowboys a team to watch for the future.

The fact that O-State running back Ollie Gordon II even returned for his junior season is a little shocking. After amassing 1,732 rushing yards, he would have been a potential first-round pick in the NFL Draft a season ago. With Gordon still a potential first-round pick this season, we were all wondering when Gordon would call it a day.

The answer to that question came earlier this week when Gordon stated that he would finish what he started with the Cowboys. He showed the fan base and his teammates that the name on the front of his jersey meant more than wins and losses. Gordon is likely in his final season with the Cowboys and will start in true Cowboy style.

Senior wide receiver Brennan Presley is closing in on Oklahoma State’s all-time receiving record and was asked about it leading up to the Arizona State game. “Whatever the team asks of me, I am ready to do it. “I don’t care if I have a catch for the rest of the season if we win every single game,” Presley said.

He may be considered one of the best possession wide receivers in Oklahoma State Cowboys history, and yet he still puts the team above any personal record. Players like Gordon and Presley make it difficult not to win for the Cowboys in the final stretch of the 2024 season. The guns will keep firing in Stillwater, and that’s because of the players who still take pride in the Oklahoma State Cowboy name.
